Enshrouded handles its crafting systems differently to other games in the genre; specifically, with respect to how recipes are unlocked. This is all done via craftspeople who you can spawn. These include the Farmer, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Hunter, and Alchemist. Each one provides services and crafting abilities, unlocking new items and resources. Here’s a guide to how to get all craftspeople in Enshrouded and what they all do.
All Enshrouded Craftspeople & How to Get Them
You can locate each craftsperson’s vault on the in-game map. Starting from the Fire Altar, their vaults are easily accessible in a sequential manner. Let’s run through them all.
Blacksmith
The first craftsperson you should unlock and is accessible relatively easily from the starting Fire Altar.
- Role: Specializes in crafting beginning equipment such as Scrappy survival tools and the Fur armor set. Also vital for crafting items requiring nails.
- Required Equipment: Forge, Smelter, Smithing Tools.
- Services: Provides a range of crafting services for early-game gear and tools.
Farmer
To acquire the Farmer in the game, you need to successfully navigate a door puzzle involving three distinct buttons:
- Button 1: Time your jumps to avoid these obstacles. After passing them, you’ll find the first button, which also deactivates the energy balls.
- Button 2: Post the first button, you’ll encounter a gap. Utilize the grappling hook to swing across this gap, ensuring you have adequate stamina for this maneuver. The second button is located just beyond this gap.
- Button 3: After pressing the second button, you’ll come across a mesh wall to climb. The subsequent challenge involves a calculated fall into a new area, where you must avoid a trap floor outfitted with spikes.
- Role: Enhances the survival aspect by assisting with food cultivation and providing various recipes for use in Embervale.
- Required Equipment: Oven, Almanac of Plants and Seedlings, Fireplace, Beehive Smoker.
- Services: Offers soil curation for farming and an array of recipes for resource collection.
Carpenter
This involves finding the Low Lands Ancient Spire, located east of the starting area and just north of the Carpenter’s vault. Use the Glider to descend towards the vault, strategically landing east of it to circumvent conflicts and dangerous terrain. The key is to enter the Shroud, located south of the vault, and follow the waypoint to the Carpenter. Stay within the Shroud; exiting it means you’re off track and need to return. This task can be accomplished at Level 3, equipped with only the Fur armor set for protection.
- Role: Essential for constructing furniture, doors, windows, and chests – crucial for base expansion and storage.
- Required Equipment: Kiln, Table Saw, Masonry Tools.
- Services: Offers crafting services for base-building materials and storage solutions.
Hunter
Hunter is unlocked by finding her in the Hunter Vault, waking her up, and placing her in your base using the Summoning Staff.
- Role: Provides essential items like Animal Fur, Torches, Scout armor set, and decorative items like carpets and wall decorations.
- Required Equipment: None specified, but crafting a Drying Rack is beneficial.
- Services: A versatile provider of various crafting materials and decorative items.
Alchemist
Should be unlocked following the Blacksmith, found relatively easily from the starting area.
- Role: Offers a range of magical and healing items, including Health and Mana Potions, Shroud Cores, and magic-based armor sets like the Healer, Mage, and Alchemist Apprentice sets.
- Required Equipment: Mortar, Alchemy Station, Laboratory.
- Services: Specializes in crafting magical weapons, armor sets, potions, and decorative books.
