PlayStation studio Insomniac Games is fast turning into one of the games industry’s most esteemed developers, having earned critical acclaim for the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank. Now, it appears the studio has another game in the pipeline besides the upcoming Wolverine that it hasn’t yet announced.
Insomniac Games Unannounced AAA Title in Development
That’s according to a recently discovered interview with Full Sail University (via mp1st), where Project Director Erin Eberhardt spilled the beans about her involvement in her first triple-A project at Insomniac Games.
“So I’m working on an unannounced title.. I can’t really talk a lot about it,” Eberhardt explains.
While the interview is a year old at this point, it’s important to note that she joined the team in November 2021. Considering this timeline, it’s clear that her comments do not refer to Marvel’s Wolverine, which had already been announced in September 2021.
Since she was involved in the unannounced project right after joining the studio, it can be inferred that this project has been actively developed for almost two years. Nonetheless, information regarding its release date remains undisclosed. There is speculation that the studio may choose to remain secretive until further details are unveiled about their other project, Marvel’s Wolverine.
In the meantime, fans of Insomniac Games can eagerly await the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on October 20 for the PS5.
