The Best Material for Late-Game Weapons

If you’re planning to take Henry all the way through Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s toughest fights, a simple hunting sword won’t cut it. For the best weapons, you’ll need Toledo Steel—a rare but essential material for high-end crafting. While it’s not required for every recipe, getting your hands on some can make a huge difference in the game’s later stages.

Thankfully, there are a few reliable ways to obtain Toledo Steel, whether you prefer buying it or taking a more underhanded approach.

Where to Buy Toledo Steel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The best place to find Toledo Steel is in Kuttenberg, specifically in the city itself. Almost every blacksmith in town stocks at least five pieces, which is more than enough for crafting most weapons. If you’ve got the Groschen, this is the easiest way to acquire it.

Here are the three best locations to buy Toledo Steel (you can find these using the interactive map page):

  • The armor shop near the Town Hall – Fast travel to the Town Hall and head north to find the shop.
  • The blacksmith between the bathhouse and the southeastern gate – This shop consistently stocks Toledo Steel.
  • The blacksmith near the west gate – Follow the road leading to the gate, and you’ll find this shop quickly.

If you buy all five pieces, don’t worry—the blacksmiths restock their inventory after a few in-game days. In our experience, each piece costs around 25.4 Groschen, so buying in bulk can be pricey.

How to Steal Toledo Steel

If you’d rather keep your Groschen for something else, there’s always the less honorable method—stealing.

Most blacksmiths have a chest near their forge or inside their home that holds their inventory, including any Toledo Steel they have in stock. These chests are usually locked (Hard or Very Hard difficulty), but if you’re skilled at lockpicking, you can grab the steel for free.

Alternatively, you can pickpocket the blacksmith’s key. To do this, wait until they go to sleep, then sneak up and steal the key to unlock the chest without breaking any locks.

Why You Need Toledo Steel

While a few crafting recipes require Toledo Steel, its most important use is reforging one of the game’s most powerful swords. Doing so not only unlocks an achievement but also gives you a weapon strong enough to carry you through the final quests.

Whether you buy or steal it, getting your hands on Toledo Steel is well worth the effort—especially if you want the best weapons Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has to offer.
