The final chapter.

Mark your Pokecalendars for December 14, 2023. That’s the confirmed release date for the much-anticipated second part of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet expansion, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

Following the successful launch of Part 1: The Teal Mask in September, which took players to the nature-rich land of Kitakami, Part 2: The Indigo Disk is set to continue the adventure. Priced at $34.99 / £31.49, this latest installment invites players to explore beyond the Paldea region, the foundational setting of these first open-world RPG entries in the iconic Pokémon series.

The Indigo Disk is set to inject new life into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the introduction of new Pokemon, an all-new Elite Four, and intriguing gameplay enhancements. Among these is an upgrade to the legendary mounts, which now boast full flight capabilities, potentially transforming the open-world experience.

Of course, we shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves. How many times have we been let down by the poor performance of recent games in the franchise? Indeed, the effectiveness of these additions will hinge on their implementation, especially given how Switch hardware has struggled to run similar content in recent years.

In any case, The Indigo Disk promises to be a substantial addition of content to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, giving fans a new horizon to explore just in time for the holiday season.
