Crafting tools are a necessary step to progression through The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, so it’s no surprise you’ll need a special kind of tool to break down its final obstacle. That tool is the Adamant Hammer, and getting it requires both specific resources and the taking down of a certain dragon. Getting the Adamant Hammer in Return to Moria

Crafting the Adamant Hammer is tied to the game’s main mission progression. First things first, you’ll need to have rebuilt the drain pumps and drained the water in The Lower Deeps area. 

Once this has been done, it’s just a small matter of defeating the big bad Narag-Shazon, the Final Dragon in the game. The fight itself is fairly tricky and somewhat time-consuming because there are two different phases:

• Phase 1 – Narag-Shazon’s minions will attack you in a circular hall. You won’t be able to attack the dragon itself during this time. Deal with all the minions with your co-op buddies.
• Phase 2 – After climbing up a stone wall, the battle then moves to a new and more open area. Narag-Shazon will retreat until it’s in an arena where the main fight commences. Your goal here is to destroy the supports that keep up its wooden ceiling. Once this collapses, go and whale on the dragon until it’s defeated.

Upon defeating Narag-Shazon, your next task is to interact with Aric, Raven of Erebor. This encounter is scripted and will provide you with the recipe for the Adamant Hammer, along with a new set of objectives.

However, before you can craft the hammer, you need access to the Khuzdul Forge. The forge becomes available as you progress through the missions and is unlocked by lighting the Great Belegost Forge. It’s important to note that this forge requires a specific type of space to be built—a large room with high ceilings.

With the recipe in hand and the forge unlocked, you will need to gather the following materials:

• 15 pieces of Adamant
• 4 Ironwood
• 2 Fine Leather
