Aim true.

Since Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 leans heavily into realism, some players might wonder whether the sequel includes a crosshair or sticks to the original’s approach—forcing you to aim without any on-screen assistance. The answer? It’s the latter. KCD 2 still doesn’t have a crosshair. However, Warhorse Studios has taken player feedback into account, making archery, crossbows, and firearms a bit easier to handle this time around. You won’t get the pinpoint precision of a modern FPS, but there are ways to improve your accuracy.

How to Aim Ranged Weapons in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To be clear, KCD 2 doesn’t include a traditional crosshair. There is a small dot on the screen that helps indicate where Henry is looking, but the moment you draw a bow, aim a crossbow, or prepare a shot with a firearm, that dot disappears. At that point, it’s up to you to judge where your projectile will land. The aiming method varies by weapon type, and I’ve put together an image to illustrate where your shots should go.

  • Bows & Crossbows: When using a bow, your arrow will generally hit where the tip of the arrow is pointing. The same applies to the crossbow—you can see the bolt’s tip, and it should land in that direction.
  • Firearms: Guns work a little differently. Because their barrels are larger, you’ll need to watch where the end of the barrel is pointing rather than relying on a sight.

That said, aiming isn’t always consistent. Bows and firearms, in particular, suffer from sway, which makes steady aiming difficult, and guns also have recoil that can throw off your shot—especially if your Marksmanship skill isn’t high enough. As a general rule, fire quickly. Holding your aim for too long will tire Henry out, making it harder to shoot accurately. So, line up your shot, let it fly, and don’t hesitate too much—hesitation could be the difference between a clean hit and a wasted shot.
