Activision’s blazing support of Modern Warfare 2 continues with a pretty substantial update this week in the form of Season 4 Reloaded. There aren’t widescale changes as in the past, with the new patch maintaining the multiplayer experience. What it does do, though, is introduce a fresh 6v6 map, RAID mission, and additional content. This article covers all the essential information about Season 4 Reloaded in Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2 currently offers an impressive selection of 21 core multiplayer maps for 6v6 battles. Initially launching with only 10 maps, the developers have been actively producing new content at a rapid pace, largely due to the encouragement and feedback from the dedicated Call of Duty community. However, in January, some multiplayer enthusiasts voiced concerns that the developers were neglecting the multiplayer aspect in favor of prioritizing Warzone 2.
The developer’s content strategy was revitalized with a strong focus on new multiplayer maps and the highly anticipated return of Gunfight. Season 4 Reloaded continues to build on this success by converting a beloved Warzone point of interest into an essential part of the multiplayer experience.
Let’s dive right into what’s in store for players: they will have the opportunity to experience the thrilling conclusion of MW2’s Special Ops RAID mode.
Vondel Waterfront 6v6 Modern Warfare 2 Map
In Season 4, the Kunstenaar District was introduced as a new multiplayer map for 6v6 battles. This map was derived from the Warzone’s Vondel map. Additionally, the mid-season update brought the Vondel Waterfront to the game. The Floating District has always been a popular and thrilling landing spot in Warzone, and now players have the opportunity to engage in full multiplayer matches at this point of interest (POI).
Vondel Waterfront showcases a collection of houseboats on the water. Reassuring fans, Activision confirmed that in multiplayer mode, operators will not have the ability to swim beneath the houseboats, with the majority of action taking place on land.
The developers made the decision to barricade several buildings, encouraging players to constantly move around instead of camping. Although players are still able to swim, it is not as extensive as seen in Warzone.
Last Modern Warfare 2 RAID Mission
In Season 4 Reloaded, the fourth and last Modern Warfare 2 RAID Special Ops Mission introduces a new addition. Within an underground bunker, Al-Qatala has taken control and holds missiles. The responsibility falls upon Price, Gaz, and Farah to apprehend the smuggled missile from the facility before its destructive potential is unleashed.
After being captured by Hadir, Alex must find a way to escape in order for players to successfully complete the final RAID mission. They can accomplish this either by teaming up with two other friends or by utilizing the looking-for-party feature.
TAQ 56 Nerf / Broadside Buff
Fans of the AR, take note: there have been some significant updates in the gaming world. The introduction of the MX Guardian Shotgun, the addition of the Vondel Waterfront map, the release of the final Special Ops Mission, and other exciting changes have been made. However, it seems that the beloved Taq 56 has undergone a nerf, resulting in reduced headshot damage. As a result, AR enthusiasts may need to reconsider their loadout and make necessary adjustments.
On top of this, the Broadside shotgun has received a buff, with the developers increasing its mid range damage.
