Baldur’s Gate 3 is all the rave right now over in the PC community, and for good reason. The epic RPG experience from developer Larian Studios has proved a big hit with reviewers, scoring an overwhelmingly positive critical reception. No wonder, then, PlayStation 5 players are eagerly anticipating its release on the platform later this summer. So much so, in fact, Baldur’s Gate 3 has claimed the coveted position of being the number one best-selling pre-order on the PlayStation Network.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Tops PS5 Pre-Orders
According to observations made by Gaming Industry Analyst Benji-Sales, Baldur’s Gate 3 has risen to the top spot for pre-orders on the PlayStation Network shortly after its PC launch last week. While its console sales might not match those on PC, this achievement is noteworthy and could potentially foreshadow substantial success upon its console release next month.
Currently available on PC, Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available on the PS5 starting September 6. However, the release date for the Xbox Series version is still pending, though it is anticipated to launch in early 2024.
Larian Studios has expressed its intention to provide an update on the Xbox Series release date before the year’s end. The delay in the Xbox Series version was previously attributed to the team requiring additional time to address technical considerations, specifically related to the Xbox Series S. This was due to restrictions that prevented a launch without split-screen functionality, owing to parity clauses.
