In ARK: Survival Ascended, chibis are sought-after collectibles that not only look cute and fuzzy but also play a role in enhancing your character’s maximum level. If you’re looking to add these adorable companions to your collection, here’s how to get Chibis in ARK Survival Ascended.
Getting Chibis in ARK Survival Ascended Via the Tek Cave
Getting Chibis is an endgame activity that requires you to beat the Tek Cave. This is basically the last challenge of your run, and as you’d expect it’s no walk in the, er, Island. You’ll be faced with defeating three formidable bosses present in the game. Your goal is to reach the teleporter pad, which will transport you to the final boss of the map. Once you beat The Overseer you’ll get Chibis as a reward.
Beating The Overseer (All Chibi Rewards)
As mentioned already, defeating the Overseer is your key to ascending and unlocking cutesy Chibis. The number you receive as a reward depends on the difficulty level at which you clear the cave:
- Gamma Difficulty: Rewards you with 1 chibi upon completion.
- Beta Difficulty: Earns you 2 chibis upon completion.
- Alpha Difficulty: The most challenging level, rewarding you with 3 chibis upon completion.
Preparing for Ascension
It’s important to note that ascension results in the loss of all your items. However, some players have discovered a workaround by storing their gear in one of their dinosaurs before the ascension process begins. Remember, you’ll need to return to the area later to retrieve your items.
It should be noted that because Ascended only features a single map at the moment, this is literally the only way to get Chibis right now. Moving forward, though, once maps like Scorched Earth are finally released, there will presumably be more ways to get more Chibis and increase your character’s max level. The next map is scheduled to launch on April 1. You can check out the full roadmap for more information.
So there you have it. Farming Chibis in ARK: Survival Ascended is an arduous task, but that’s because it’s the final waltz before completing the game. It should come as no surprise that it requires significant effort and dedication. The grind is totally worth, but just make sure you have the support of your tribemates.
